Theatrical Excitement: Dame Judi at the Rose

Always happy to read about Judi Dench. Particularly when she's coming back to the London stage.

And this week, there's news about her playing Titania in MSND at the Rose Theatre in Kingston next year. Yay!

Here's some details from the lovely CB at The Official London Theatre Guide:
Hall's [Sir Peter] new production of Shakespeare's magical comedy depicts Titania, the Fairy Queen, as the ageing Queen Elizabeth I, fascinated with the theatre, besieged by courtiers but "married to the people of England".

The production will be specially designed for the Rose theatre's open stage, which was modelled on the original Elizabethan Rose theatre on London's Bankside.
Exciting stuff.
